Downtown Dayton Surpasses $500M in New Investment
Downtown Dayton has reached a major milestone, surpassing $500 million in cumulative new investment since 2020. The achievement marks a transformative period for the city's urban core, with major projects spanning residential, commercial, hospitality, and cultural sectors.
Key developments include the $85 million Water Street District mixed-use project, the renovation of the historic Arcade into boutique office and retail space, and multiple residential conversions bringing over 1,200 new housing units to the downtown area.
The region's cost advantage continues to drive interest. Office space in downtown Dayton averages $18 per square foot — roughly one-third of comparable space in Columbus and one-fifth of markets like Austin or Nashville.
